Recap of 2022
In 2022, our focus for the first half of the year was to explore structured products such as Dual Investment and Sharkfin on BNBChain. Subsequently, we launched our structured product hub and released various line-ups of financial derivatives. We gradually added more features to those products, e.g. more available underlying assets and availability on different chains.
In the third quarter of 2022, we started to design and develop our BNBChain sidechain called B2. We successfully started our official testing phase and gathered a huge amount of feedback, for all three of our testing DApps.
B2 in 2023
This year, our primary objective is to bring B2 to mainnet and establish a robust ecosystem around it. The launch date for the B2 mainnet is scheduled for April 2023. The B2 testnet has been operational for the past two months without any downtime. During the testing phase, we received valuable feedback and bug reports from our community. We are using this feedback to improve B2, the ecosystem, and its DApps. Please keep in mind that we are really paying attention to the details because we really want to deliver a good product without compromises in the end. We are dedicating significant resources to improve our technical stack to ensure a seamless and successful mainnet launch in April.
The $MATTER token will serve as the primary token for operating the B2 infrastructure, thus node operators and network users will require $MATTER for security staking and gas consumption. With that $MATTER will become native to B2, and users will have the option to bridge their tokens to B2, once mainnet arrives. We are not issuing a new token, supply stays the same, while utility increases.
Ecosystem
Our focus on structured products is driven by the belief that they play a crucial role in the growth and development of the ecosystem. By providing a diverse range of products, we aim to attract a wide range of users and increase the overall adoption of our ecosystem. As the DeFi ecosystem matures, we see a growing demand for innovative products that can be built on top of existing protocols such as Opyn. These products will allow us to further enhance the functionality of our ecosystem and provide more value to our users.
We are also actively exploring ways to integrate MATTER more deeply into our ecosystem products. This will include developing new trading and investment opportunities for MATTER holders, as well as increasing the token’s utility within the ecosystem. By doing so, we believe we will be able to increase the demand for MATTER and ultimately drive its value.
In summary, our strategy to continue focusing on structured products for ecosystem building is rooted in the belief that they will play a critical role in attracting users, increasing adoption, and driving value for the ecosystem. We are dedicated to building innovative products that will provide more value to our users and increase the utility of the MATTER token.
Exploration
The launch of the B2 mainnet presents a wealth of opportunities for us to explore new products and features on the B2 blockchain, in addition to the structured products previously mentioned. We are constantly seeking new ways to improve and enhance our infrastructure, and are actively exploring concepts such as modular blockchain and restaking.
We also extend an invitation to our community to join us in building on the B2 mainnet and helping bring unique features to the B2 ecosystem. One area we are particularly excited about is the potential for generative art, as the unique elements of B2 transaction hashes can be used to create one-of-a-kind digital art pieces.
